About the Bobby Thomson Challenge Cup

Bobby Thomson was passionate about the benefits of sport and in particular, Table Tennis. Bobby lived until he was 92 and made sure he kept physically active by playing Table Tennis, dancing and walking his dog. He coached until he was in his late 80s and established Table Tennis groups in Inverclyde and further field. The Bobby Thomson Challenge Cup is open to Inverclyde Table Tennis players of all levels living in Inverclyde (there is a special category for Inverclyde teachers) more on that soon! This Cup is a way to keep Bobby's memory alive and to ensure his legacy lives on. The Bobby Thomson Challenge Cup is the ultimate Inverclyde Table Tennis competition. It brings together people from all over Inverclyde to showcase skills and compete in different categories. Schools, Inverclyde teachers, individual age categories, and more are just some of the opportunities to play and win prizes! More on this later.
